Want to sound great on the violin?
You're in the right place!
This course is designed as a first step for absolute beginner violinists and those wanting to refine their bowing technique. It's ideal for
- People wanting an extra resource to assist with home practice
- Rural students and those without easy access to regular lessons
- Busy parents who may not have time to attend their child's lessons, but are still keen to be involved with practice at home (almost always leading to better progress!).
- Self directed learners who wish to check in with a teacher less frequently
- Those thinking about learning violin but wanting some information on what to expect before signing up to lessons and buying an instrument.
Violin Foundations 1 takes you through the essential basics of bowing technique - starting with how to set up your violin and hold the bow, all the way through to controlling dynamics and sound quality.
This course is designed to be paired with Violin Foundations 2, which will take you through everything left hand!
How You Will Learn
This course gives you a set of technical goals to achieve for each module. You will learn through clear video lessons, diagrams and worksheets, quizzes, aural tests, exercises and a daily practice planner.
Because violin can be challenging to learn without a teacher, one off 'Technique Check' lessons are available via correspondence or live online, allowing course participants to get personalised feedback and better progress without the commitment of regular lessons.
